Description: 
The two overarching goals of the National Strategic Plan are:To reduce the incidence of HIV infections in Trinidad and Tobago; and To mitigate the negative impact of HIV/AIDS on persons infected and affected in Trinidad and Tobago. This Five-year National HIV/AIDS Strategic Plan for Trinidad and Tobago is founded upon the following four principles: Inclusion: the strategic response will reflect the voices of all major sectors and interest groups, in particular PLWHA, youth and women; Sustainability: the method and supply of financing for the expanded response will be in keeping with the resources required to reduce and eliminate the disease; Accountability: there will be continuous monitoring, evaluation and reporting to civil society; and Respect for Human Rights: basic human rights for all HIV positive persons.
