This bilingual chartbook is intended to inform a wide audience on the situation of HIV/AIDS in Karnataka and the state's response to the spread of deadly disease. It has been divided into two parts. Part one describes the level of infection and the manner in which it spreads. Part two provides details on the state's programme to confront the disease and the evidence -based planning. This chartbook has been produced jointly by the Population Foundation of India, New Dlehi, the Karnataka State AIDS Prevention Society, the India-Canada Collaborative HIV/AIDS Project, and the Population Reference Bureau.
