The aim of this manual is to introduce teachers and others who work with young people to a way of teaching drug education and other health issues such as HIV/AIDS based on the development of links between knowledge, value and skills. The contents of the manual are: an introduction to its approach, planning for life skills-based education for drug use prevention, activities for developing various life skills (communication, decision-making, assertion, self-awareness building skills and coping and stress management skills), facilitation methods, workshop organisation, and background information to drugs and HIV/AIDS.
