This report presents the findings of a round table discussion on the participation of the private sector in Nigeria in girl's education as part of the broader education for all (EFA) initiative. This was the first time the Nigerian Organised Private Sector was brought together to deliberate in discussions with the Ministry of Education, UNESCO and other Development Partners. The report is structured into two parts i.e. the main body and the annexes. The main body consists of an Introduction and summery, Welcome address, Address by the Minister of Education, Paper by the Assistant Director General of UNESCO, Talks on 'Girl child education initiative - Opportunities for the private sector, 'Education of girls and women - Role of the private sector, Civil society partnerships with the private sector in delivering girls and women's education and Communication, technology and girl's and women's education. The annexes include information on the 6 EFA Goals, Dakar 2000, Framework for Action to meet basic learning needs, Millennium Development Goals, Programme, Communique and List of participants.
