Description:
Because stigma has an impact on prevention and care it is important to address it directly. However stigma-mitigation practice has not been well informed by theory and research. An urgent need was identified for indicators of stigma, which can be used to develop interventions and measure their success. The purpose of these guidelines is: to share the findings of the Siyam'kela research project in a user-friendly way; to increase awareness among decision-makers in the workplace of the importance of creating accepting environments to reduce HIV/AIDS stigma; to provide recommendations on how to develop an HIV/AIDS-friendly environment.
