Confederation of Ethiopian trade Unions, CETU
Since HIV/AIDS is the problem of adult community mainly in the age of 15 to 49 years, the workers community is the hardest hit portion of any country with HIV/AIDS. To this effect HIV/AIDS should be recognized as a work place issue, and be treated like any other serious illness/condition in the work place. Understanding this fact the Confederation of Ethiopian Trade Unions issued a work place HIV/AIDS policy that has emanated from the national HIV policy. The Confederation of Ethiopian trade Unions (CETU) is an umbrella organization of over 400 Basic Unions organized under nine National Industry Federations with an estimated number of 400,000 members.
