  2. Youth Visioning for Island Living final reporting on HIV/AIDS awareness in Papua New Guinea (PNG)

    We decided to implement this project here in our province (Western Highlands Province, WHP) among 30 institutions due to the fact that there is no decrease to the spread of HIV/AIDS here. HIV/AIDS is on the rise here (PNG) amongst young people. Many young people including schooling teenagers have died of HIV/AIDS. It involves teachers as well, among many who are dying daily in the Province and the country as a whole.   3. Process evaluation of a school-based HIV/AIDS intervention in South Africa

    This paper presents a process evaluation that assessed the fidelity and quality of implementation, as well as the acceptability and subjective evaluations of a HIV/AIDS intervention among students and teachers. Methods: The process evaluation was conducted as part of a cluster randomized controlled trial of a theory- and evidence-based school HIV/AIDS intervention in Cape Town. The intervention was designed for grade 8 high school students and delivered by teachers over a six-month period. Twenty-six schools participated in the trial, 13 in the intervention group and 13 in the control group. …

This report presents final results from a multi-year, experimentally-based impact study conducted as part of this evaluation.   5. It works! Communication for HIV prevention and social change in adolescents: a mid-term review

    Straight Talk Foundation (STF) has worked for 15 years to better the lives of Ugandan adolescents. Its focus has been HIV prevention and improved adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH). STF's approach builds on the voices and stories of young people, parents, teachers and health workers to create "conversations" and generate solutions.
