    The goal of the national HIV and AIDS monitoring and evaluation plan is to ensure a coordinated and effective strategic information management system for use in improving the national HIV and AIDS response. The specific objectives of the National HIV and AIDS M&E Plan are: i) To strengthen the national mechanisms for generating comprehensive, quality and timely HIV and AIDS information for monitoring and evaluating the NSP 2014/15-2019/20; ii) To promote information sharing and utilization among producers and users of HIV and AIDS data/information in Uganda, at all levels.

  2. An action guide for gender equality in national HIV plans: catalyzing change through evidence-based advocacy

    A growing body of evidence links HIV risk with women's social and economic inequality, male norms that drive sexual risk, and the social marginalization of individuals whose sexual identity or behavior is perceived to fall outside accepted norms. In recognition of this, many international donor agencies are funding programs that aim to reduce gender inequality as a driver of the epidemic.   3. The Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development advocacy strategy for orphans and other vulnerable children 2007-2010

    In February 2007, the Ministry of Gender, Labor and Social Development (MGLSD) released Findings to Guide the Development of a National Advocacy Strategy to Support Orphans and Other Vulnerable Children, a qualitative research report. The purpose of this study was to better understand the strengths and limitations of the national response to OVC, and to identify factors that impact policy makers' willingness to allocate resources to OVC programming.     This collection of stories highlights some of the key advocacy moments of our time as told from the unique perspective of those who are engaged in advocacy work in communities around the world. In all, 16 different advocacy organizations are profiled in this manual. Although the stories focus on HIV/AIDS, the advocacy models are applicable to other settings and other issues.
