  4. Youth reproductive and sexual health

    The study provides information on key reproductive and sexual health indicators in young women and men age 15-24 in 38 developing countries. The data come from Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) and AIDS Indicator Surveys (AIS) conducted between 2001 and 2005. Indicators are selected for the following key areas: background characteristics; adolescent pregnancy; contraception; sexual activity; and HIV/AIDS-related knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors. Additional analysis examines the association of various individual and household characteristics with the key indicators.

  5. Myanmar: reproductive health baseline community survey 2002

    The report presents findings of the 2002 reproductive health baseline community survey carried out in townships under the UNFPA project. The main objectives of the survey is to find out knowledge, attitude and practice related to reproductive health, STD, HIV/AIDS, maternal health and contraception. The study will provide baseline information for evaluating the progress in the level of knowledge and behaviour change on the reproductive health in those township communities at the end of the project in 2005.

  6. Adolescent girls in India choose a better future: an impact assessment

    A summary report of a cross-sectional comparative impact study to assess the impact of CEDPA's Better Life Options Programme (BLP) on the decision making and reproductive health behaviour of adolescent alumnae girls who graduated from the programmes in the peri-urban slums of Delhi, rural Madhya Pradesh and rural Gujarat in India. The study compared BLP alumnae who completed the programme between 1996 and 1999 with a similar control group of young women (ages 15-26) who had not been exposed to the programme.
