  4. Education sector response to HIV and AIDS: assessment on responses of higher education institutions to HIV/AIDS and gender in Ethiopia

    This assessment is based on an institution-based cross-sectional survey conducted with the main objective of assessing the current status of HIV/AIDS and gender responses of higher education institutions in Ethiopia. Eighteen public and four private HEIs located in nine regions of the country were covered by the study. The study was conducted between October and November 2011.     The main objective of this situational assessment is to compile and synthesize existing recent information on HIV and young people together with the current AIDS response for young people in Zambia, including programmes, policies, and key partners, and to document gaps and challenges in the response. In this document young people refers to individuals aged 10 to 24 years. It analyzes existing strategic information on HIV and young people and identifies gaps in the evidence and in the current HIV response.

    L'analyse de la réponse du secteur de l'éducation en matière de lutte contre le VIH/SIDA dans les quatre pays du Maghreb, l'Algérie, le Maroc, la Mauritanie et la Tunisie, fournit des informations spécifiques à chaque pays en identifiant l'existant et en soulignant les besoins du secteur de l'éducation face au VIH/SIDA.     Over the past decade, Pacific Island countries have seen a rapid increase in HIV related activities that have largely been disconnected from broader sexual and reproductive health (SRH) activities.
