   UNESCO has undertaken a study of the response of Universities to the HIV/AIDS epidemic and the University of The West Indies (UWI) was selected as one of these. When reviewed against the general overview of the response of the tertiary sector internationally, the UWI shows a strong commitment to HIV and AIDS management and to the development of a comprehensive and innovative programme.
