    Addressing Homophobia in Relation to HIV/AIDS in Aboriginal Communities (AHRHAAC) is a project of the Canadian Aboriginal AIDS Network (CAAN). AHRHAAC was created to look at how organizations serving Aboriginal people can help to create supportive and nonjudgmental environments for two-spirit people living with HIV/AIDS through the development of policies that address homophobia and by raising awareness in Aboriginal communities on how to address homophobia when it is a barrier to HIV/AIDS prevention and education. …

    The Sex Education Forum is a unique collaboration of diverse organisations representing children, parents, faith, disability, health and education. We believe thatáall children and young people are entitled to high quality sex and relationships education (SRE), which includes learning about HIV and AIDS. The House of Lords began an ad-hoc Select Committee on HIV and AIDS in the United Kingdom in January 2011 and is due to report in July 2011.     "Sexuality and HIV & AIDS" was the theme of the 4th Africa Conference on Sexual Health and Rights held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from February 8th to 12th, 2010. The main objective of the Conference was to identify vulnerabilities and vulnerable people that are critical to SRHR and HIV/AIDS interventions. The Conference sought to introduce new insights to initiatives that will stem the spread of HIV and AIDS and map a course of action for SRHR.   10. HIV/AIDS: The Power of Education

    The document "HIV/AIDS: The Power of Education" transcribes the speeches pronounced by different specialists at the opening ceremony of the UNICA/UWI/UNESCO Conference on HIV/AIDS and Education, in October 29, 2003. It is a wake-up call for the education sector to rise to the fundamental challenge of tackling the disease head-on. It states that HIV/AIDS is an important public health issue which needs to be confronted with a strong education response. Indeed, in absence of an effective vaccine to definitely fight against AIDS; education is the best way to prevent new infections.

    This paper provides an overview of some of the most pressing concerns countries within ECOWAS and their partners will face over the next five to ten years as the rate of adult HIV/AIDS infection climbs to critical levels. Currently only four out of the 15 ECOWAS countries fall under this designation, but time is short and the spread of HIV/AIDS is quickly reaching higher proportions within the subregion, transferring the full impact of the epidemic from micro to macro level. …
