    The vision of this NSP is “A Healthy and Productive Population free of HIV and AIDS and its effects” while the goal is “Towards Zero new infections, Zero HIV and AIDS-related mortality and morbidity and Zero discrimination”.   13. Survival of HIV-infected adolescents on antiretroviral therapy in Uganda: findings from a nationally representative cohort in Uganda

    Adolescents have been identified as a high-risk group for poor adherence to and defaulting from combination antiretroviral therapy (cART) care. However, data on outcomes for adolescents on cART in resource-limited settings remain scarce. The authors developed an observational study of patients who started cART at The AIDS Service Organization (TASO) in Uganda between 2004 and 2009.   15. Are Africans practicing safer sex: evidence from demographic and health surveys for eight countries

    The authors use repeated rounds of Demographic and Health Survey data from eight african countries to examine changes in and determinants of three HIV risk behaviors: age at first intercourse; number of current sexual partners, and use of condoms. They find some evidence of changes in sample composition, which is easily handled in a multivariate framework, and find evidence as well of changes in how people respond to questions about HIV behavior. …
