    Teaching about sex and relationships is one of the greatest challenges in not only the combating of HIV and AIDS, but also in preparing the youth for responsible sexual behaviour.   2. L’éducation à la sexualité: conceptions d’enseignants et futurs enseignants de trois pays maghrébins (Tunisie, Maroc, Algérie)

    Cet article analyse les conceptions d’enseignants et futurs enseignants sur l’éducation à la sexualité dans les trois pays du Maghreb: Tunisie, Algérie, Maroc. Un questionnaire, construit et validé dans le cadre du projet de recherche européen BIOHEAD-Citizen, a été rempli par 1306 enseignants et futurs enseignants de ces trois pays. Des analyses multivariées ont permis d’identifier des différences entre les trois pays, ainsi que certaines convergences, et d’établir des liens entre les conceptions des enseignants sur l’éducation à la sexualité, et leurs opinions religieuses ou politiques. …

    Cette étude a pour objectif d'évaluer l'état actuel des connaissances et des comportements des apprenants et des personnels administratif et enseignant du Ministère de l'Enseignement Technique et de la Formation Professionnelle (METFP) face au VIH et au sida. Sur le plan méthodologique l'étude a touché 2985 apprenants de 14 à 35 ans et 830 enseignants et administratifs de 21 à 60 ans des deux sexes venant des structures officielles et de certaines structures privées laïques et confessionnelles de Lomé à Dapaong. …

  5. Courage and hope: stories from teachers living with HIV in sub-Saharan Africa

    It is estimated that there are currently around 122,000 teachers in sub- Saharan Africa who are living with HIV, the vast majority of whom have not sought testing and do not know their HIV status. Stigma remains the greatest challenge and the major barrier to accessing and providing assistance to these teachers. The personal experiences from the 12 teachers presented in this book offer first-hand accounts of the difficult, and sometimes debilitating, challenges faced by teachers living with HIV. …
