    Success stories presented in this report should help the Government, stakeholders and service providers to be more efficient in the fight against HIV/AIDS. The present document describes five best practices selected among the 30 interventions. The first case presented in this document is the intervention implemented in Nyamagabe District. This focuses on sensitization of PAGOR project beneficiaries on HIV/AIDS.   2. Regional consultation on youth and HIV/AIDS: mobilizing youth for behaviour change

    The aim of the workshop was to provide a follow-up forum for the BIG7 Alliance from the Nairobi cluster countries after the Pan-African Youth Forum in Dakar, Senegal, and to give them the opportunity to not only finalize their national action plans for HIV/AIDS prevention but also to identify regional needs and priorities that could be considered for prevention and mitigation of the impact of HIV/AIDS among young people in the region.   3. Going to Scale in Ethiopia: Mobilizing Youth Participation in a National HIV/AIDS Program

    This case study describes a collaboration between the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, and the YouthNet and IMPACT Projects of Family Health International that was supported with funding from the Bureau for Global Health of USAID. The study documents a successful youth-adult partnership that used youth-led Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) as an effective methodology for empowering young people to communicate with each other and with adults about their sexual and reproductive health needs. …

    The National HIV Prevention Strategy (2009-2013) is a guiding tool for planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluating and resource mobilization for HIV prevention interventions. The strategy will provide practical guidance for improving current HIV prevention programming for maximum impact. The goal of the strategy is to reduce new HIV infections in order to further mitigate the burden and impact of HIV and AIDS in Malawi. …

  5. Consultation régionale des jeunes et le VIH/SIDA: mobilisation de la jeunesse pour le changement de comportement

    Une consultation des jeunes sur le VIH/SIDA, avec pour thème central : « Mobilisation de la jeunesse pour le changement de comportement», a été organisée à Bujumbura, au Burundi, du 19 au 21 octobre 2004 par le Bureau Régional de l'UNESCO à Nairobi. L'atelier avait pour but de permettre aux participants de finaliser les plans d'action nationaux initiés lors du forum panafricain des jeunes qui a eu lieu à Dakar, en mars 2004. L'objectif global de la consultation était de contribuer à la réduction du taux de transmission du VIH/ SIDA chez les jeunes des pays du bureau multi-pays de Nairobi. …
