    Communication for Change (C-Change) works around the world to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of social and behavior change communication (SBCC) across program areas, including health, environment, economic growth and poverty alleviation, and democracy and governance.     The aim of the workshop was to provide a follow-up forum for the BIG7 Alliance from the Nairobi cluster countries after the Pan-African Youth Forum in Dakar, Senegal, and to give them the opportunity to not only finalize their national action plans for HIV/AIDS prevention but also to identify regional needs and priorities that could be considered for prevention and mitigation of the impact of HIV/AIDS among young people in the region.     This BCC strategy has been developed based on comprehensive audience research, and it follows on and is linked to two companion documents: The 2008 Biological and Behavioral Survey on HIV and AIDS in the Republic of Maldives, and Konme Kamevves Vedhaane - a Comprehensive Audience Analysis for HIV Risk in the Maldives, August, 2009.   6. Guidelines for implementation of the behaviour change communication (BCC) strategy

    The national BCC strategy was developed in collaboration with HIV and AIDS stakeholders and has since been disseminated at national and district levels. The strategy is one of the prevention oriented implementation components on HIV and AIDS for the country as outlined in the National Strategic Plan.     This case study describes a collaboration between the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, and the YouthNet and IMPACT Projects of Family Health International that was supported with funding from the Bureau for Global Health of USAID. The study documents a successful youth-adult partnership that used youth-led Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) as an effective methodology for empowering young people to communicate with each other and with adults about their sexual and reproductive health needs. …

  8. Male Homosexual Identities, Relationships, and Practices among Young Men Who have Sex with Men in Vietnam: Implications for HIV Prevention

    This qualitative study examines local identities, relationships, and sexual practices among young MSM aged 15-24 in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city of Vietnam. The analyses were based on 26 in-depth interviews and 10 focus group discussions with young MSM recruited through public place intercepts and cruising areas. The report documents the linguistic classification, sexual relationships and behaviors, identity and process of homosexual identification, and the potential linkage between sexual identity and sexual behaviors of MSM in Vietnam. …
