    Communication for Change (C-Change) works around the world to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of social and behavior change communication (SBCC) across program areas, including health, environment, economic growth and poverty alleviation, and democracy and governance.     This case study describes a collaboration between the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, and the YouthNet and IMPACT Projects of Family Health International that was supported with funding from the Bureau for Global Health of USAID. The study documents a successful youth-adult partnership that used youth-led Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) as an effective methodology for empowering young people to communicate with each other and with adults about their sexual and reproductive health needs. …

  3. Changes in HIV-related knowledge and behaviors in sub-Saharan Africa

    The purpose of this study is to provide strategic information on key HIV-related indicators for program managers and policymakers to monitor and evaluate prevention programs and to design new strategies. The report summarizes levels and recent changes in 69 indicators of HIV-related knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of women and men age 15-49 in 23 countries in sub-Saharan Africa. Data come from the two most recent rounds of population-based, nationally representative Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) conducted between 1992 and 2006. …
