    CARE travaille dans les pays les plus touchés par le VIH et le sida. Dans 25 pays, ses efforts pour combattre les nombreux effets de la maladie se concrétisent par des projets consacrés spécifiquement à la lutte contre le VIH/sida.     A growing body of evidence exists to demonstrate what constitutes an effective school-based sexuality education programme. The factors that contribute to successful implementation of effective school-based sexuality education at regional, country or local levels - so-called "levers of success" - are less clear.   7. Adolescents, social support and help-seeking behavior : an international literature review and program consultation with recommendations for action

    The document is part of WHO project to identify and define evidence-based strategies for influencing adolescent help-seeking and identify research questions and activities to promote improved help-seeking behaviour by adolescents. The document presents the findings from an international review on the topic; results of programme consultation with 35 adolescent health programmes; results of six key informant interviews; and recommendations for action, including brief outline for developing a set of guidelines for the rapid assessment of social supports to promote the help-seeking of adolescents.

  9. Making it work: linking youth reproductive health and livelihood

    The report presents the result of an analysis of linked programmes. The objectives of the analysis was to assess the challenges and potential effectiveness of programmes integrating adolescent reproductive health and livelihoods, highlight innovative approaches, and define gaps that exist in designing interventions. Assessment of selected programmes was carried out in India, Colombia and Kenya.

    This issue of journal is about reproductive rights, advocacy and changing the law. Papers on abortion cover the role of political parties and political process in changing the law, the role of feminists and doctors in efforts to get hospitals in the context of restrictive law, and efforts to get nurses and other health workers to confront their own prejudices against abortion in order to make service provision women-centred. Two papers delve into the meaning of reproductive health and rights and the role of advocacy in implementing changes in reproductive health law, policies and services.
