    One in every three girls in the developing world is married by the age of 18. One in seven marries before they reach the age of 15. This PMTCT Training Package is expected to play a key role in accelerating the scale up of PMTCT services in the Pacific region through training of healthcare workers to implement appropriate, quality services for PMTCT.

    Officially launched in January 2004, the German-Burkinabe Sexual Health and Human Rights Programme (PROSAD) was chosen for write-up in the German HIV Practice Collection because, over the years, it has become a uniquely sustained, comprehensive and results-driven effort to protect and empower women, youth and children. It has helped raise their own and public awareness of their human rights, including their sexual and reproductive rights, and has provided them with a range of services and mechanisms that allow them to take advantage of those rights.

    The document contains the national strategy on reproductive health care (RHC) of Viet Nam for the period 2001-2010 approved by the Prime Minister's decision on 28 November 2000. The strategy reflects the guiding principles, objectives and actions to be taken in RHC in Viet Nam over the next decade.

The fact sheet can be used as advocacy tools for anyone working in the area of young people's sexual and reproductive health.
