  1. Getting in line: coordinating responses of donors, civil society and government for children affected by HIV and AIDS

    In 2007, a nine-country study in East and Southern Africa was commissioned to map involvement and define roles and responsibilities of civil society in expanded national AIDS responses to orphans and children made vulnerable by AIDS. Getting in Line analyses these country studies and provides recommendations to increase engagement between civil society, external agencies and government and assist their alignment with the vision, principles and strategies contained in national plans of action.

  2. Understanding the institutional dynamics of Zimbabwe's response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic

    This study examines the institutional arrangements established to address the challenges of HIV and AIDS in Zimbabwe. The first part of the study looks specifically at the Zimbabwe National AIDS Council (ZNAC) - its organisational structure and, to a limited extent, its programmes - while the second part of the study looks at selected non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
