    This report provides findings from the rollout of the People Living with HIV Stigma Index (PLHIV Stigma Index) in nine countries in Asia and the Pacific (Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Fiji, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand). It provides the first large-scale regional comparison of standardized human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-related stigma indicators. It shows that stigma and discrimination have profound implications for HIV prevention, treatment, care and support. …

A la suite d'une enquête minutieuse, le document dresse un état des lieux de la situation de hommes gais à Genève en fonction de l'âge, due statu socio-économique, du lieu de domicile, de la culture et du genre, des facteurs psycho-sociaux ou encore du soutien social.   5. Individual- and community-level determinants of social acceptance of people living with HIV in Kenya: results from a national population-based survey

    Using data from the 2003 Kenya Demographic and Health Survey, we investigated the influence of individual- and community-level factors on accepting attitudes toward people living with HIV (PHLIV) using three outcomes: willingness to care for an infected household member, willingness to buy vegetables from an infected vendor, and willingness to allow an infected female teacher to continue teaching. Multilevel logistic regression models, with individuals at the first level and community variables at the second level, were performed. …
