  4. The second national multi-sectoral strategic framework on HIV and AIDS (2008-2012)

    The second National Multi-sectoral Strategic Framework (NMSF) on HIV and AIDS covers the period 2008 to 2012. It builds on the achievements and strengths of the National Response to the HIV epidemic in the last five years (2003-2007) and proposes measures and strategies to overcome past barriers and constraints. This NMSF guides the approaches, interventions and activities which will be undertaken by all actors in the country. The framework was developed through an extensive review and consultation process under the guidance of the national and international consultants.

  5. Women: meeting the challenges of HIV/AIDS

    The brochure summarizes the possible approaches in promoting gender equality and the empowerment of women as they are fundamental elements in the reduction of the vulnerability of women and girls to HIV/AIDS. The suggestions include promoting health and access to service; empowering women to make decisions in relations to sexual and reproductive health; promoting human and equal rights of women; increasing women's access to income-generating activities; providing care and support to HIV-positive women, their children a, partners and families, etc.

  6. Policy document on HIV/AIDS and STD prevention and control

    This policy document provides a policy framework that will guide partners, both national and external, in efforts to prevent the further spread of the HIV/AIDS epidemic and to reduce its impact on affected individuals, their families and the community at large. It will form the policy basis for the development and implementation of the Swaziland National Strategic Plan for the Prevention and Control of HIV/AIDS and other STD.
