The University of KwaZulu Natal (UKZN) is situated in one of the Provinces most affected by this pandemic where the high prevalence of HIV/AIDS is placing a huge demand on all sectors of service delivery, economic development, teaching and learning.
In the past, UNAM's 1997 policy guidelines on HIV/AIDS provided a basis for action, but since that time, the country and the region have seen a massive escalation in the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
