  3. The education equality curriculum guide: supporting teachers in tackling homophobia in school

    This guide focuses predominantly on issues of sexual orientation and homophobia. These lessons are designed for use at Key Stage 3. They can be adapted and used to suit different year groups and abilities. Some lessons already provide ideas and resources for differentiation within the class. The majority of the lessons focus on sexual orientation or an investigation of homophobia; the same activities can be adapted and applied to other causes such as sectarianism/racism.     This toolkit has been developed as one of a number of equality projects covering a range of issues.     This is a document which gives guidance to a facilitator on AIDS prevention education. It gives guidance on how to design and conduct an advocacy workshop so as to initiate a process by which preventive education on AIDS/STD for adolescents will have acceptance and the full support from school principals, administrators, teachers and parents of secondary school students.
