  1. Culture matters: working with communities and faith-based organizations: case studies from country programmes

This review is part of a UNFPA effort to strengthen its capacity to explore windows of opportunities for the implementation of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) in 1994 and to address resistance that is rooted in traditions, customs and social practices in country where UNFPA supports programmes. It attempts to explore the contribution of culturally sensitive approaches and partnerships with local power structures and institutions to the effective implementation of rights-based population and development programmes.
