  5. Strategies to improve reproductive health services for adolescents in Bangladesh: a community-based study

    This study, conducted by ICDDR, B: Centre for Health and Population Research in collaboration with Concerned Women for Family Development (CWFD), aimed at determining the relative benefits of an integrated adolescent-development programme that combined reproductive health education, community sensitization, livelihood skill-training (ST), and a savings and credit scheme.     This issue of Sexual Health Exchange published by SAFAIDS and the Royal Institute (KIT) is devoted to edutainment for development and sexual health. The term "edutainment" combines the ideas of education and entertainment by using the performing art as a vehicle of change and education.   10. Making it work: linking youth reproductive health and livelihood

    The report presents the result of an analysis of linked programmes. The objectives of the analysis was to assess the challenges and potential effectiveness of programmes integrating adolescent reproductive health and livelihoods, highlight innovative approaches, and define gaps that exist in designing interventions. Assessment of selected programmes was carried out in India, Colombia and Kenya.

  12. A strategic assessment of reproductive health in the Lao People's Democratic Republic

    This national strategic assesment of reproductive health was conducted by the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH), Lao PDR in collaboration with the World Health Organization, with objectives to identify priority areas for programme intervention and research in reproductive health; and to provide recommendations for strengthening reproductive health services and improving quality of care. The strategic assessment was intended to serve as input to the MOPH in its efforts to develop an integrated approach to reproductive health service delivery.

  13. Strategies for adolescent health and development South-East Asia Region: report of an Intercountry Consultation, New Delhi, 26-29 May 1998

    The Intercountry Consultation on Development of Strategies for Adolescent Health for South-East Asia Region of WHO was held from 26-29 May 1998 in New Delhi, India. The meeting was participated by representatives of countries from the health education, youth, women and NGO sectors as well as by UN agencies and observers. The objectives of the meeting were to review the health situation and issues related to adolescents in South-East Asia; to develop strategies for health and development of adolescents involving stake-holders from relevant sectors; and to plan for follow-up actions.
