    Since the beginning of the epidemic sex workers have experienced a heightened burden of HIV across settings, despite their higher levels of HIV protective behaviors (UNAIDS, 2009).   3. Hatred in the hallways: violence and discrimination against Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender students in U.S. schools

    This publication discusses documented attacks on the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender youth who have been subjected to abuse by their peers, and in some cases by their teachers and school administrators. To date, these violations are compounded by the lack of legislation to protect these students from discrimination and violence. Youth around the world ages 12 through 21 were interviewed for this report. In addition, 130 youth service providers, teachers, counselors, and parents were surveyed. …

  8. Caracterización de contextos de vulnerabilidad para la adquisición de ITS/VIH/SIDA en cuatro poblaciones en el centro de la ciudad de Guatemala

    El presente estudio se realizó con travestis trabajadores sexuales (TTS), mujeres trabajadoras sexuales (MTS), hombres trabajadores sexuales (HTS) y hombres que tienen sexo con hombres (HSH) en el centro de la Ciudad de Guatemala durante 1998 y 1999. El trabajo se encaminó para poder precisar las interacciones entre individuos y contexto social en los campos de la salud y la sexualidad, situación legal y derechos humanos.
