    The employer is concerned about HIV and AIDS situation and this policy in line with the main objectives of the health, safety and environment policy aims to ensure that employees have sufficient awareness of the causes, prevention and consequences of the disease in order to adequately protect themselves, their family members and others.

  2. Code of good practice on key aspects of HIV/AIDS and employment. Department of Labour, Employment Equity Act, Act No. 55 of 1998

    The Code’s primary objective is to set out guidelines for employers and trade unions to implement so as to ensure individuals with HIV infection are not unfairly discriminated against in the workplace. This includes provisions regarding: creating a non-discriminatory work environment; dealing with HIV testing, confidentiality and disclosure; providing equitable employee benefits; dealing with dismissals; and managing grievance procedures.

    La présente politique nationale vise à garantir aux travailleurs un développement socio économique durable par une approche cohérente et équitable de la lutte contre le VIH/sida sur le lieu de travail et la gestion des conséquences de l'infection notamment en termes de traitement, de soins et de soutien aux travailleurs vivant avec le VIH/sida. Elle s'adresse au gouvernement, aux employeurs publics et privés, aux travailleurs de l'économie formelle et informelle et à leurs représentants, aux associations professionnelles, aux acteurs et institutions intervenant dans le monde du travail.

  4. HIV/AIDS policy for the Swaziland public service

    This policy seeks to: define those areas where HIV/AIDS can impact on the public service and its employees and clearly state the position of the public service in terms of management of all aspects of the problem; assist all role players to manage HIV/AIDS in the workplace appropriately; create a safe working environment for all employees; discourage discriminatory responses in the workplace to anybody know or suspected to have HIV/AIDS.
