    Based on interviews with more than 50 LGBT students and former students in fourteen prefectures throughout Japan—as well as teachers, officials, and academic experts—this report documents bullying, harassment, and discrimination in Japanese schools based on sexual orientation and gender identity or expression, and the poor record of schools when it comes to appropriately responding to and preventing such incidents.

    The Skool's Out initiative was aimed at encouraging effective responses to homophobic harassment and violence in and around schools, both public and private, in New South Wales, Australia. The focus was on safety and security in the school environment for all students, teachers, parents and community members. It was held as part of the 2002 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and comprised three events: a public Forum, an entry in the Parade and a stall for the Mardi Gras Fair Day.     Stigmatizing attitudes towards people living with HIV (PLHIV) are common among young people. Yet there are few opportunities for youth to be exposed to interventions that address the key drivers of stigma and discrimination, namely lack of awareness of stigma and its harmful consequences, social judgment and fear of infection through casual contact. This project demonstrated that higher education can be an effective entry point for stigma reduction, by working with several groups and environments, in this case the faculty, students and college. …

    On any given day, more than one billion children around the world attend school. Many of these children enjoy their right to be taught in a safe and stimulating environment. For many others, however, schooling does not guarantee such opportunity. These girls and boys are exposed to bullying, sexual and gender-based violence, corporal punishment and other forms of violence with or without the approval of education authorities.     The Educational Policy Addressing Social Inclusion (EPASI) project is an effort to identify and analyse a sample of existing policies and implemented projects addressing educational inequality in 14 of the 27 member states.   13. Informe nacional sobre violencia de género en la educación básica en México

    La investigación tiene por objetivo primordial la producción de conocimiento estadístico que posibilite la medición y el acercamiento a la compresión integral de la problemática de la violencia de género. Asimismo, busca ser una guía en el diseño y el desarrollo de políticas educativas que, desde la perspectiva de género, propicien relaciones equitativas entre los sexos, contribuyan a la eliminación de la discriminación y la violencia de género, así como a garantizar el cabal cumplimiento de los derechos de las niñas y los niños en el entorno educativo.
