    Without addressing HIV-related stigma and discrimination, the world will not achieve the goal of ending AIDS as a public health threat by 2030. The global partnership’s goal is to reach zero HIV-related stigma and discrimination. An opportunity to harness the combined power of governments, civil society and the United Nations, the global partnership will work together, using the unique skills of each constituency, to consign HIV-related stigma and discrimination to history.

  4. Facts on Children and HIV/AIDS, Viet Nam

    In Viet Nam, the lack of understanding of HIV, myths about HIV and the association of HIV with "social evils" often causes the patients to be stigmatized. This booklet is a resource for education managers, teachers, parents and communities and aims to provide information about children and HIV and AIDS, with the objective to remove the myths and reduce stigma and discrimination against these children. This booklet was based on the "10 Facts on Children and HIV/AIDS" booklet produced in Thailand. It was adapted and new content was added to ensure relevance to Viet Nam.

    Many challenges have been encountered in the response to HIV and AIDS, not the least of which is the impact of stigma on the lives of people infected as well as those otherwise affected.
