    World leaders have committed to ending AIDS through a new framework for action: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and the Sustainable Development Goals. Ending AIDS is now part of a broader health goal (SDG 3): Ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all at all ages; however, the AIDS response must also focus on gender equality, human rights, economic empowerment and education.     This case study describes a collaboration between the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, and the YouthNet and IMPACT Projects of Family Health International that was supported with funding from the Bureau for Global Health of USAID.   7. Male Homosexual Identities, Relationships, and Practices among Young Men Who have Sex with Men in Vietnam: Implications for HIV Prevention

    This qualitative study examines local identities, relationships, and sexual practices among young MSM aged 15-24 in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city of Vietnam. The analyses were based on 26 in-depth interviews and 10 focus group discussions with young MSM recruited through public place intercepts and cruising areas. The report documents the linguistic classification, sexual relationships and behaviors, identity and process of homosexual identification, and the potential linkage between sexual identity and sexual behaviors of MSM in Vietnam. …

  8. Revised national strategic plan II for a comprehensive and multi-sectoral response to HIV/AIDS 2008-2010

    The National Strategic Plan for a Comprehensive and Multisectoral Response to HIV/AIDS 2006-2010 (NSP II) was originally developed in 2005. This revised version of the NSP II covers the remaining three years (2008-2010) and concerns an update. The revised NSP II is part of the National Strategic Development Plan (NSDP) for 2006-2010, which in turn supports the Royal Government's Rectangular Strategy for the development of Cambodia.     This study examines the institutional arrangements established to address the challenges of HIV and AIDS in Zimbabwe. The first part of the study looks specifically at the Zimbabwe National AIDS Council (ZNAC) - its organisational structure and, to a limited extent, its programmes - while the second part of the study looks at selected non-governmental organisations (NGOs).     There is now at last a growing recognition that women's disempowerment is largely responsible for the speed at which HIV/AIDS has spread in countries across the world, for the unconscionably high death toll, and for the devasting impact the disease is having on affected communities. Women are not increasingly represented among the vulnerable, infected and affected simply because they are women but because of the discrimination and inequality that distorts and impairs virtually every aspect of their lives.
