  3. India : enhancing grils' life skills recquires long-term commitment

    This study shows that interventions to improve girlsÆ life skills are feasible. However, effecting significant improvements in girlsÆ skills and economic advancement would require a longer-term intervention that nurtures skills while building relationships with parents and communities. It is suggested that the vocational training programs should take a long-term approach to facilitate partnerships with parents and communities in support of adolescent girlsÆ economic participation in India.
