Los casos de Uganda y Vietnam como ejemplo de los avances en el acceso al tratamiento del dolor y cuidados paliativos. El documento concluye con recomendaciones para los gobiernos, los responsables de políticas mundiales de drogas, OMS, ONUSIDA y la comunidad de donantes, y, finalmente, la comunidad de derechos humanos.

    El estudio se basa en la historia de una madre adolescente de la calle que vive con SIDA. Muestra la situación de los derechos humanos de los niños (as) y adolescentes y en especial los derechos sexuales y reproductivos de las madres adolescentes en estado de abandono, como así también las escasas respuestas socio-institucionales frente a la epidemia. Se presenta un análisis del marco legal relativo a los derechos humanos de los adolescentes y el VIH/SIDA en Venezuela.

  8. What Can We Do to Make a Difference?: Situation Analysis Concerning Children and Families Affected by Aids

    This article discusses the importance of situation analysis in the process of formulating interventions for children and families affected by HIV/AIDS. The argument is that for interventions to be effective and resources to be well used, it is essential that interventions are developed with a clear understanding of the factors which are most significant and how they relate to each other in causing or mitigating problems. It is well argued how situation analysis and ongoing monitoring are essental to planning and implementing effective interventions.
