    This survey known as SAVY, which stands for Survey Assessment of Vietnamese Youth, was carried out by the Ministry of Health (MoH), the General Statistics Office (GSO), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations ChildrenÆs Fund (UNICEF). Nearly 7600 participants from 42 provinces across the country including males and females, married and unmarried, Kinh and ethnic minority.   4. Human rights and the education sector in the context of HIV/AIDS in Asia

    This paper is one in a series of papers commissioned by the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNOHCHR) in Bangkok for an expert consultation meeting in March 2004. It looks at the impact of the HIV/AIDS epidemic on education from a human rights perspective. The paper also offers a conceptual framework to assess how HIV/AIDS has an impact on human rights and the education sector, and discusses directions for a future response.

  5. Adolescents data on reproductive health issues in the I. R. of Iran

    The paper presents the results of a baseline survey conducted to assess the knowledge and awareness of reproductive health matters among the students of the junior and high schools. The survey was conducted by the Statistical Centre of Iran with the collaboration of UNFPA-Iran in the selected project areas. Survey information will facilitate the monitoring and evaluation of the current programme of the Ministry of Education and help formulate the future plan of action.

    The monograph contains six chapters: youth development; youth education; youth health; youth employment; youth participation; and conclusions and recommendations.
