This publication is the result of the project funded by the UNAIDS Young People Commitment and CO-Responsibility in Preventing the Spread of HIV and AIDS. The primary objective is to include the perceptions of youth in the formulation and implementation of HIV and AIDS policies, thereby enhancing the involvement of youth in the containment of the epidemic. This document presents an evaluation of the process, results and impact of the initiative to promote health and prevent sexually transmitted diseases among adolescents and youth in the school environment (in Brazilian schools), on the basis of research carried out in 340 schools in 14 state capitals. Students, teachers, principals and parents were included in the survey.
