  2. Let our actions count: reflections on NSP 2012-2016 and moving forward to NSP 2017-2022

    Let our Actions Count shares our country’s HIV, TB and STI journey and sets out our agenda going forward. We outline the progress we have made over the last five years, share what we learnt at the International AIDS Conference 2016, which we co-hosted with the International Aids Society, we identify the gaps and challenges in our response and then we set out the goals and strategic objectives for the next five years. Let Our Actions Count sets the foundation for the National Strategic Plan for HIV, TB and STIs 2017-2022 that will be launched on World TB Day, 24 March 2017.

    This Gender Equality Assessment of Provincial Strategic Plans and Provincial Operational Plans on HIV, STIs and TB within South Africa assesses provincial HIV, STI and TB responses against the HEARD and ATHENA Framework for Women, Girls and Gender Equality and the UNAIDS Gender Assessment Tool for National HIV Responses.   10. Key findings on HIV prevention information needs in Lesotho

    Data was collected in late 2009 using qualitative research methods. Eleven key informant interviews were conducted with policy makers, opinion leaders, program managers, and development partners, all working on HIV and AIDS activities at the national level. Each was based in Maseru, though some of their work covered both rural and urban areas. Four focus group discussions (FGDs) were also conducted with a total of 17 participants. …

    The situation analysis was conducted to describe the access and the availability of STDs, HIV and AIDS programme services in Somalia during the period September - October, 2000. The study was conducted by a consultant for UNICEF Somalia and financed by UNICEF.     In the past several years, there has been a growing international dialogue on the feasibility and desirability of providing integrated family planning (FP) and HIV services. The reasons for offering joint, complementary services are many. Adding FP services to counseling and testing might provide an opportunity to reach populations that do not typically attend FP clinics, such as the sexually active young and unmarried, men, and members of high-risk groups such as sex workers. …
