This Law was passed on June 29, 2006, by the XIth National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the 9th session. Law No. 64/2006/QH11. Pursuant to the 1992 Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, which was amended and supplemented under December 25, 2001 Resolution No. 51/2001/QH10 of the XIth National Assembly at its 10th session; This Law provides for HIV/AIDS prevention and control.
The purpose of the project was to analyse the relationship between global, regional, national and local strategies to combat HIV/AIDS in the light of increasing globalisation, and to discuss changing (health) governance and the role of the state.
The HIV/AIDS Management and Prevention Act 2003 was passed in 2003; its main purpose is to manage and provide avenues towards prevention and spread of HIV/AIDS. The objectives of the act are : 1. protect the privacy; liberty and mobility rights of persons infected or affected by HIV/AIDS; 2. provide an atmosphere where persons are encouraged to go in for voluntary testing and post-test counseling and support services; 3. prevents mandatory HIV testing; 4. safeguards confidentiality; 5. empowers an affected person to seek redress from the Courts; 6. …
