This issue brief urges educators, advocates, and policymakers to take immediate, concrete steps to provide LGBTQ-inclusive sex education for all youth, by: 1) Becoming advocates for LGBTQ-inclusive sex education, 2) Ensuring that school is a safe and accepting space for LGBTQ students, 3) Implementing LGBTQ-inclusive sex education in schools, community settings and online, 4) Talking to their own children and teens about sex and sexuality, 5) Working to remove state-level legal and policy barriers to LGBTQ-inclusive sex education in schools and require inclusive programs.

The document is part of WHO project to identify and define evidence-based strategies for influencing adolescent help-seeking and identify research questions and activities to promote improved help-seeking behaviour by adolescents. The document presents the findings from an international review on the topic; results of programme consultation with 35 adolescent health programmes; results of six key informant interviews; and recommendations for action, including brief outline for developing a set of guidelines for the rapid assessment of social supports to promote the help-seeking of adolescents.
The report presents an analysis of the results of Generation Rx.com, a nationally representative, random dial telephone survey of 1209 young people ages 15-24, with an oversample 200 non-white respondents. The survey was designed to examine how young people use Internet for health information: are they turning to the Internet for information on their health and well-being; what types of issues are they researching online; how they go about finding the information they need; do they trust what they learn; does the information they find influence their behaviour.
