  4. Evaluation of an AIDS education programme for young adults

    The aim of this randomized, pre-post test study was to evaluate the impact of AIDS education programs (Streetwize UK) on adolescents. Participants were identfied from six youth training centers in Nottingham, England. The participants were aged 16-19 years and each centre ws randomly allocated to experimental (n=173) or control (n=164) group. Sixty-six percent of the sample was sexually active. No differences were observed between groups at pre-test. …

    The National AIDS Control Programme (NACP) has registered 4047 cases of HIV and 455 cases of AIDS till December 2007.   7. Youth in the Philippines : a review of the youth situation and national policies and programmes

    The monograph contains six chapters: youth development; youth education; youth health; youth employment; youth participation; and conclusions and recommendations. The first chapter on youth development provides an overview of youth participation in national development followed by a review of the national youth policy and programmes. Each of the three chapters on education, health and employment begin with an analysis of policy and followed by a quantitative and a qualitative analysis on youth issues in the relevant area.

  8. Reaching Out-of-School Youth with Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS Information and Services

    Youth who do not attend school or who drop out prematurely miss many of the fundamentals of basic education - reading and writing skills, mathematics, and science.
