    It is a hardy perennial of the university environment that normative consensus around large global issues such as sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) is easier to secure than the programmatic requisites. Thus, in principle, tertiary education students are included in international SRHR-related declarations and domestic policies pertaining to the education and health sectors; in practice, there is often a lack of programmatic and policy attention at institutional level, as well as a marked knowledge gap over the status of student’s sexual and reproductive health (SRH) needs.

    The objectives were to determine risky sexual behavioural trends and health promotion needs among students, to develop an online HIV/STI prevention programme utilising the NMMU intranet portal. Descriptive data regarding demographics, sexual behaviour, internet usage and the relevance of various health promotion messages were included in an online questionnaire.   10. Adolescents data on reproductive health issues in the I. R. of Iran

    The paper presents the results of a baseline survey conducted to assess the knowledge and awareness of reproductive health matters among the students of the junior and high schools. The survey was conducted by the Statistical Centre of Iran with the collaboration of UNFPA-Iran in the selected project areas. Survey information will facilitate the monitoring and evaluation of the current programme of the Ministry of Education and help formulate the future plan of action.

  11. Sexual and Reproductive Health Behaviour of Students of Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria

    This study uses both quantitative and qualitative approaches to obtain data from 1448 students equally selected from six tertiary institutions from Nigeria's three main divisions.The main objectives were to investigate the sexulal behaviour of students and highlight aspects likely to increase vulnerability to HIV infection. It is hoped that the information can used to underpin evidence-based interventions.
