    The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between teachers’ attitude towards teaching HIV/AIDS education and students’ knowledge and attitude towards sexual behaviour in secondary schools in the Coast Region of Kenya. The study used descriptive survey research design. The samples comprised 421 respondents of which 33 were teachers and 388 students in 13 secondary schools. Questionnaires and interview schedule were used to collect the data. The validity of the instruments was checked by the supervisors and other experts in the field of research. …

    Educators within the school system are well placed to facilitate the dissemination of knowledge and skills in order for adolescents to be equipped for appropriate sexual decision-making.     Becoming a responsible teen (BART) is an HIV and STI risk-reduction programme primarily targeting African-American adolescents ages 14 to 18. It was originally designed for non-school settings.     This survey was designed to shed light on how South African youth view their lives today and what they think about their futures, with a particular focus on HIV/AIDS and sexual behaviour. The survey also provides some data on South African young people's awareness of loveLife - South Africa's national HIV/AIDS prevention programme for youth.In addition parents and guardians were also surveyed about their views and experiences related to open communication about sexuality.

    Assesses the impact to date of HIV/AIDS on the provision of primary and secondary education in Malawi, providing background information on the schooling system, governement education policy and the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The study is set up to analyze the main areas that determine supply and demand of education. Projections are then made to analyze how the epidemic will impact the school system over the next 10 -15 years and recommends strategies and interventions to mitigate the impact on students and teachers.
