It synthesizes the presentations and discussions at the seminar, which informed consent within the context of ethical research, including the elements of informed consent, how perception of risk plays a role in the informed consent process, how informed consent can vary in different contexts and within different populations, studies of informed consent, and the cost/benefit of informed consent to the research process.
