    The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) has been implementing a successful programme - the EFAIDS, as a contribution to the achievement of the Education For All (EFA) in the era of HIV and AIDS pandemic.     Many challenges have been encountered in the response to HIV and AIDS, not the least of which is the impact of stigma on the lives of people infected as well as those otherwise affected. We recognize that a multi-pronged approach is necessary in any effort to combat this disease and propose that explicit sensitization training and anti-stigma measures are a critical component of any successful HIV&AIDS education or elimination program.   3. Social Discrimination against Men Who Have Sex with Men (MSM) - Implications for HIV Policy and Programs

    This policy brief provides an overview of social discrimination against gay men and other MSM as it relates to HIV. It also includes recommendations for concerted action and policy development. A review of literature that demonstrates the linkages between homophobia and vulnerability to HIV is presented with related examples. The recommendations are intended for a global audience of advocates, researchers, service providers, public health practitioners, donors and policy makers.

    This protocol has been developed to meet a need for guidance on counseling of children and their parents/guardians about HIV/AIDS in 30 USAID/FHI projects with orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) under the IMPACT project in India.
