   Gender-based violence (GBV) is a pervasive human rights issue with public health consequences.    The report highlights the need to continue efforts to create broad-based support for reproductive health programs, improve coordination among stakeholders, strengthen NGOs so that they can effectively participate in the policy process, and enhance the financial sustainability of programs.

5. Unsafe schools: A literature review of school-related gender-based violence in developing countries.

   This review has been commissioned by USAID's Office of Women in Development to identify, annotate, and synthesize research studies and projects/interventions addressing primary and secondary school-related gender-based violence (SRGBV). The review of the literature looks first at evidence of the prevalence of school-related gender-based violence in developing countries.
