    The Ethiopian Government established a National HIV/AIDS control program in 1987 under the Ministry of Health. Several intervention activities have been undertaken but not guided by a national policy. This policy, part of the overall health policy, aims to direct the various efforts in mitigating the impact of AIDS in Ethiopia.

  8. National Policy on HIV/AIDS and STD Related Issues

    Four cross-cutting and priority issues were given emphasis in this document. These were human rights, gender, behaviour and information, and education and communication.This Policy Statement endorses the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) as a standard for policy making and action at all levels in the response to HIV/AIDS and STDs in Bangladesh.
