Since then little is known about the patterns of its implementation across the states in the six geo-political zones in Nigeria.     This report presents the findings of an evidence gap map that assesses the evidence available on the effects of adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH) programming in low- and middle-income countries. It documents the methods used to create the map and examines evidence clusters and gaps identified in it. While there is considerable amount of impact evaluation evidence, it addresses only some of the priority questions within this broad topic.   5. Drug prevention programmes in schools: what is the evidence?

    Key messages: Universal drug education programmes in schools have been shown to have an impact on the most common substances used by young people: alcohol, tobacco and cannabis. The approaches which appear to be most effective are those based on social influences and life skills, for example Life Skills Training and Unplugged. Interventions which are not drug-specific but focus on children and young people’s attachment to school can also be effective in reducing substance misuse.     This evaluation was commissioned jointly by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) with the main purpose of evaluating results of the resources invested by Norway and Sweden in development co-operation in support of child rights. The report found considerable achievements albeit measured in terms of outputs rather than outcomes.     Guatemala has a legal basis for the protection of children and young people and ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1990, which was domesticated in 2003 with the passage of the Law on the Integral Protection of Children and Adolescence. This study asks what factors and conditions have generated positive results of Norwegian and Swedish assistance to promote child rights in Guatemala. The evaluation is concerned with specifying strategies and interventions that function well, as well as with identifying gaps and failures in existing policy and practice.
