  1. Regional report: sexual and reproductive health laws and policies in selected Arab countries

    This report is an attempt to provide a bird’s eye view on the situation of legislative tools and frameworks in selected Arab countries with regard to key issues related to reproductive health. Legislative environment is an enabling factor that creates supportive space and mechanisms to effect systemic, societal and individual change. This regional analysis is a starting point that should be built on to develop in depth analyses on the national levels to identify gaps and propose bridging and corrective measures.

  3. L’éducation à la sexualité: conceptions d’enseignants et futurs enseignants de trois pays maghrébins (Tunisie, Maroc, Algérie)

    Cet article analyse les conceptions d’enseignants et futurs enseignants sur l’éducation à la sexualité dans les trois pays du Maghreb: Tunisie, Algérie, Maroc. Un questionnaire, construit et validé dans le cadre du projet de recherche européen BIOHEAD-Citizen, a été rempli par 1306 enseignants et futurs enseignants de ces trois pays. Des analyses multivariées ont permis d’identifier des différences entre les trois pays, ainsi que certaines convergences, et d’établir des liens entre les conceptions des enseignants sur l’éducation à la sexualité, et leurs opinions religieuses ou politiques. …

    L'analyse de la réponse du secteur de l'éducation en matière de lutte contre le VIH/SIDA dans les quatre pays du Maghreb, l'Algérie, le Maroc, la Mauritanie et la Tunisie, fournit des informations spécifiques à chaque pays en identifiant l'existant et en soulignant les besoins du secteur de l'éducation face au VIH/SIDA. L'objectif de ce projet est d'appuyer les efforts de prévention aux niveaux national et régional pour que la prise de décision, la planification et l'exécution des activités soient plus pertinentes, plus appropriées et plus efficaces.

  12. Youth reproductive and sexual health

    The study provides information on key reproductive and sexual health indicators in young women and men age 15-24 in 38 developing countries. The data come from Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) and AIDS Indicator Surveys (AIS) conducted between 2001 and 2005. Indicators are selected for the following key areas: background characteristics; adolescent pregnancy; contraception; sexual activity; and HIV/AIDS-related knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors. Additional analysis examines the association of various individual and household characteristics with the key indicators.
